Areas

General

A wide variety of housing options are available in Kuala Lumpur ; detached and semi-detached houses, condominiums or apartments offered as fully/partly furnished or unfurnished. The cost will vary greatly depending on size and location. The apartments (condominiums) usually have good facilities such as swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, gym and often a small shop or cafe.
Before you start to look for a home you should ask yourself what your priorities are: what facilities do you require and how close do you want to be to schools, office, shopping, city centre, public transport and sports facilities? Traffic in KL can often be heavy and congested so driving times vary, especially during rain and peak hours. Expatriates live throughout the city and its suburbs. Some of the areas most popular with expats are briefly described below.
